Try going to this site:
http://www.dslreports.com/tools
Run their "speed test" and "packet loss" test. Then run their "tweak test" and let it do the tweaks. Then repeat the other t ests to see if you got any improvement. The "tweak test" substantially improved my D SL performance Post Comments |

Rockman, I use them all the time. Their speed test was one of the tests I used to determine how badly my speed had dropped. Unfortunately, I've already done all the recommended tweaks and verified they are still there after the motherboard upgrade. Any other advice? Post Comments |

Yes. I went to DLINK's web site and got the latest drivers there to see if it would help. N o go. Post Comments |

I have a GeForce 2 MX in the AGP slot SBLive card in PCI slot 1 Then my Dlink card in slot 2 Then a SB 56K modem in PCI slot 3
What is the best way to check the interrupt conflicts?

Go to Control Panel, double click System icon, select Computer on the Device Manager tab and c lick on properties. This will let you see all of your interrupts. Shared interrupts is not nec essarily bad, but for the purposes of solving your problem it is best to have it on its own in terrupt. Have you tried a loopback test. Did your card come with a diagnostics program? It may be that your DSL provider just decided to whack your bandwidth. Are you still getting the hi gh bandwidth with another computer? If you have a home network are you getting the peer to pee r performance you should be getting? Sandra SiSoft has a network tester but I have not used it . Anybody know of a good Network tester? Lot's on IRQ 11: 11 Intel(R) 82801BA/BAM USB Universal Host Controller-2442 11 D-Link DFE-530TX PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter 11 nVIDIA GeForce2 MX 11 IRQ Holder for PCI Steering 11 IRQ Holder for PCI Steering 11 IRQ Holder for PCI Steering
I have it going through a LINKSYS DSL Router. I took it straight thru the cable modem, same problems. My other computer on the router is getting 1mbps-1.3mbps consistently.

Slots 1 and 5 share an interrupt and you have your SB Live in slot 1. You were fine with the c ard in slot 2. Slot 6 would have been a better choice. However you are now sharing with differ ent devices and still the same problem so I am less optomistic that this is going to solve you r problem. Post Comments |

I moved the ehternet card into PCI slot 5. Now it is on IRQ 10 shared with:
10 D-Link DFE-530TX PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter 10 Creative PCI Modem Enumerator 10 Creative SB Live! Series 10 IRQ Holder for PCI Steering 10 IRQ Holder for PCI Steering 10 IRQ Holder for PCI Steering
Still same problem.
I did download NETMEDIC. When I'm watching the bandwith tests, I do notice that I get to the 600-900kpbs range for a couple seconds then drop drastically to 0-20kbps range then jump back and forth. Does that point towards something. Makes on-line gaming a bitch. I keep freezing up every few seconds.

Do you have any free interrupts? Try disabling any unused serial and parallel ports to free up some interrupts. I don't have a lot of experience with interrupt sharing but I have always made sure that my network card had its ow interrupt. I think if you pulled the modem card and disabled all of your serial and parallel ports that you would be able to get it so that nothing is shared. Hopefully that will solve your problem. Then you could add things back that you need, keeping control of what things are sharing interrupts and making sure everything works OK.
When you go to control panel and double click on Network, what all do you hav e listed there? Post Comments |

Hey Bouchra, I myself just bought and installed a cusl2-c. Everything seem to be going ok until I installed the nic. My system will freeze for about 1-2 seconds, then pick up, then freeze, etc. The cpu resources in system monitor will peg while its happening. I have attributed it to the nic based on someone elses post. The post was something like "new board new problems". They were using a linksys card having a similar problem. If you can, try a different network card. However, I think the problem is in the nic's chipset. I looked up your nic model on the Redhat Linux hardware compatability list. It says it is based on a "Realtek 8139" chipset. My SMC nic is based on the same chipset. They linksys that other was using is based on that chipset, I think. Thats why my suspicions are pointing toward that chipset. The other SMC card i used with success was based on a DEC20141 chipset. I have order a 3com card and will try it out. If anyone has ideas to further this along it will be GREATLY, GREATLY appreciated. Hope this helps some. Post Comments |
