Three minor bugs have been nailed, which included: - Text going under the right menu in some browsers. Fixed - Critical layout issues in Internet Explorer. Fixed - Multiple instances of the same subcategory being added to a category when accepting new category submissions. Fixed The major feature we have added in this update is a pagination. As I talked about in another post, l inks are now segregated into 25 links a page. This means; Quote: - Less clutter in categories with lots of links. - Faster loading. - Easier for users to browse through the links, and the most important; - More pages are created, which means more pages indexed by search engines.  If you already own a 1.0 copy of the script you wi ll find an email from us, which includes details o n how to obtain the update. We will be happy to help. What's coming up in 1.2? Quote: - Added security. - An option of emailing link owners when their site is accepted. - Mailing list capabilities. - Banner advertising added to the Administrative Panel. This will make it easier to add and edit advertising on your directory. - Image capabilities intergraded in the header of the directory. - A URL filter to help cut down on spam. - An option to show/hide the number of links in the directory.  We are already working on the next update. Perhaps even with a place for longer description, but not sure about that one.... Tomas can you explain the function in a bit more detail? I'm not quite sure on what you are asking Snowy to add. I've requested quite a few feature additions. I wond er if it's one I've requested. Post Comments Re: I'm sure it's a one requested Reknine Bellsoth 11/15/2008 1:15:02 AM I'm sure it's a one that must have been already requested. link2page was a stupid name for a great function: in a usual directory script, if you have 100 categories and 1000 links, you only get 100 pages indexed by search engines ( not if you have Snowblind's script but that's different story ). I would like to have 1100 pages indexed, though. So basically the suggestion is to have, for each link, a special page, "details page", where all the details like description etc. would be listed. Many things can be done on from that, like to have short description on category page and long description on link details page. Or, the same what David did with PHP Dictionary script: have say only first 100 characters of each description show up on category page, and complete description on links page. The goal here is of course to avoid any duplication penalty problems, especially for the future... The way they redirect is dodgy, and they often use the keyword title to do the redirect to the internal page. It's not one of the features I have suggested to S nowy, but he may wish to add it. I notice that the same is happening on http://www.a-web-directory.info where I get page cant be found after selecting a category. Is it a general problem or just our install?
