You can use high PR sites which gives you higher PR backlinks. Also use good bookmarking servic
e. Sumbit your link into high PR directories. That gives better PR to your site.

Ways to get links (that I know of):
1) Post in free submission directories
2) Offer link ex
change on your site(s), reciprocal or triangular
3) Issue press releases, prweb, urlwire, pres
sbox etc
4) If its a blog make sure you list it in technorati and similar blog aggregators
5)
Try to create link-bait, interesting content, useful tools etc. which earn links in their own
right.
6) Submit your link-bait/useful content to digg, reddit etc
7) Buy links, either throu
gh a brokerage, or by approaching sites in your niche directly and making them an offer
8 ) Us
e link exchange schemes - but be aware that search engines do not like these types of schemes a
nd you may be penalised, so tread carefully. 2 Popular schemes are digitalpoint co-op and link-
vault.
