Have you installed 3.5 before? Are you installing 3.5 RTM or Beta 2? The RTM version is now available for download, but it probably won't work with the VS 2008 Beta. Is 3.0 installed? Post Comments |

I had the Beta 2 of 3.5 and VS 2008 Beta 2 installed but I uninstalled them as recommended. I just tried to install Visual Web Developer 2008 Express Edition but that failed too. Post Comments |

I'd try downloading the RTM versions of the .NET Framework 3.5 and VWD Express 2008 and try that. Again, make sure all previous beta versions have been removed. Post Comments |

I finally got the Microsoft .NET 3.5 Framework installed with Visual Web Developer 2008. For the benefit of anyone else having problems, here is what I did. First I uninstalled several additional products from the Visual Studio 2008 Beta 2 (there were more than I realized): Microsoft Visual Studio Team System 2008 Team Suite MSDN Library for Visual Studio 2008 - ENU Microsoft Document Explorer 2008 Microsoft Visual Studio Web Authoring Component Microsoft Windows SDK for Visual Studio 2008 .NET Framework Tools Microsoft Windows SDK for Visual Studio 2008 SDK Reference Assemblies and IntelliSense Microsoft Windows SDK for Visual Studio 2008 Tools Microsoft SQL Server Compact 3.5 Design Tools ENU Microsoft SQL Server Compact 3.5 ENU Microsoft Device Emulator version 3.0 - ENU Microsoft .NET Compact Framework 3.5 Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Even after I did that, I still had to uninstall th e .NET 2.0 Framework SP1. I deleted several setup folders from my C drive and then rebooted. Post Comments |
