TheHunchbackofNotreDame Author: Rudra Kandedat Posted Date: Sep 19 2007 3:30AM     This animated version of Victor Hugo's classic novel tells the story of a beautiful gypsy girl, Esmeralda.  She is in Notre Dame Cathedral on Fool's Day when the pitiless Archdeacon, Frollo, sees her and falls in love.  He sends the hunchback bell ringer, Quasimodo to catch the girl, but he fails the task and is arrested.  She aids him after a flogging, but is mistaken for a witch.  Quasimodo returns the favor by rescuing her and brings her back to the cathedral where he befriends the beautiful gypsy.  However, Frollo wishes to make Esmeralda his and is willing to stop at nothing to make it happen.  Quasimodo may be able to protect Esmeralda for the time being, but Frollo and the townspeople are still after her and he is just one man.
